A San Diego, CA-based real estate developer, Elliot Feuerstein has signed many large businesses, including Wells Fargo, Walgreens, Target, and McDonald’s, to development deals. In addition to managing shopping centers, Elliot Feuerstein is active in the community as a member of the Board of the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF).
In September 2016, JCF hosted an event called “Experience Your Border: A Learning Tour of Cross-Border Issues in the Tijuana-San Diego Region.” The full-day educational excursion was jointly organized and attended by members of the San Diego Grantmakers.
Participants toured the border area and heard from both U.S. and Mexican experts on air and water quality issues affecting both sides of the border. Speakers came from the U.S. Consulate, municipal organizations, and private sector partners. Traditional Tijuana cuisine was served for lunch, courtesy of students at the Colegio de la Frontera Norte. This trip was one event of ongoing educational activities organized by JCF.
